Madam Sumedha Kariyawasam assumed duties as the new principal of Southlands College, Galle on the 25th of January. She excelled
as a Deputy Director of Education (Administration) at the Zonal Education Office, Galle before this appointment. Southlands community is confident in her ability to nurture the rich culture of the school. Madam Sumedha Kariyawasam being a past pupil of Southlands College will continue to advance the school for current and future generations.

Southlands College warmly welcomed its new grade one students for the academic year 2022, on the 21st of April.
The function took place in the school auditorium with the presence of Mrs. Chithra Bamunusinghe; the Zonal Director of Education, Mrs. Sumedha Kariyawasam;
Primary library is revived. Renovate and revived primary library which was started as
Mrs. Shanthi Seneviratne assumes duties as the Principal today.
